Hello, I'm Lita!
I’m Lolita “Lita” Law, an author, playwright, storyteller, and creative entrepreneur who believes every person has a story worth telling.
My work brings together faith, writing, education, and creative media. I love creating stories that make people laugh, think, reflect, and discover new possibilities. Whether through books, theater, digital productions, or community programs, my desire is to create meaningful connections and encourage others to recognize the value of their own stories.
I am the founder of The Written Witness Foundation and LitaVerse Studios, two creative initiatives that allow me to share my love for storytelling in different ways.
My journey has taught me that life is full of unexpected chapters, but each one offers chances to learn, grow, and discover new purpose.
And I am still writing my story.
My Journey: Faith, Healing, and Purpose
In October 2016, I lost my husband of 29 years. His passing changed my life in ways I could never have imagined. During that season, I struggled with grief, depression, and questions about my faith and what life would look like moving forward.
But God was with me, even when I could not recognize His presence.
Writing became an important part of my healing journey. It gave me a place to express my thoughts, confront difficult emotions, and begin finding my voice again. I also learned the importance of seeking professional help and allowing others to walk alongside me during difficult seasons.
Today, I know that my story did not end with loss. Through God’s grace, I have continued to grow, pursue my education, find love again, embrace new opportunities, and discover new ways to serve others.
I share my testimony because someone may be going through a difficult season and wondering whether life can ever be meaningful again.
I want them to know there is hope, there is help, and their story is not over.
Writing & Creative Arts
Writing has always been one of my greatest passions. I enjoy creating stories that make people laugh, think, reflect, and see the world through different perspectives.
As an author and playwright, my creative work includes books, stage productions, faith-centered storytelling, and digital media. Some of my stories explore grief and healing, while others celebrate family, history, adventure, and the experiences that connect us.
I believe stories can entertain while also opening the door to meaningful conversations. Whether I’m writing a book, developing a play, or creating a new digital production, my desire is to share stories that leave people with something to think about long after the story ends.
The Written Witness Foundation
The Written Witness Foundation grew from my desire to help others discover the power of their own stories.
As a faith-rooted literary and wellness organization, the Foundation encourages writing, storytelling, healing, and legacy preservation. My vision is to create opportunities for people of all ages to find their voices through writing workshops, literary events, community storytelling projects, and creative education.
I believe everyone has experiences worth sharing, and our stories can encourage others, strengthen communities, and preserve memories for future generations.
Through the Foundation, I hope to create spaces where people feel heard, supported, and inspired to share their stories.

LitaVerse Studios
LitaVerse Studios represents an exciting new chapter in my creative journey.
Through the studio, I bring original stories to life using creative writing, animation, digital media, filmmaking, and emerging technology. I believe stories can entertain while also inspiring people to learn, reflect, and see the world through different perspectives.
My projects include Journey’s World, a family-friendly animated adventure series, and Faith, Truth & Love, an anthology that explores faith, personal experiences, and the challenges of everyday life.
As technology continues to change how stories are created and shared, I am excited about the opportunities it provides for independent storytellers. My goal is to use these tools thoughtfully while keeping meaningful storytelling at the heart of everything I create.

Education, Research & Leadership
I believe learning is a lifelong journey, and I am still discovering new things every day.
I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Strategic Media at Liberty University, where my research focuses on the relationship between engagement with online grief narratives and attitudes toward seeking professional mental health support among African American Christian widows.
I hold a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing, a Master of Arts in Professional and Technical Writing, and a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical and Theological Studies. My education has strengthened my love for writing, communication, storytelling, and how media and technology shape our lives.
Beyond my academic pursuits, I am actively involved in ministry, mentoring, and community leadership, including my work with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. I believe leadership is about serving others, creating opportunities, and helping people recognize their potential.
Whether I am writing, researching, teaching, or serving my community, I want my work to make a meaningful difference.
Beyond the Work
Beyond the books, research, and creative projects, I am a mother, a woman of faith, and someone who genuinely enjoys life and the people God has placed in it.
My daughters, ShaRonda and Morgan, are two of my greatest blessings. I enjoy spending time with family, reading, watching movies, singing, and finding new things to learn. I also love the dramatic arts and the opportunity to encourage and mentor others.
Life has taken me through seasons I never expected. I have experienced great joy, tremendous sorrow, unexpected blessings, and new beginnings. Along the way, I’ve learned that we cannot always control what happens in life, but we can continue to grow, discover new possibilities, and embrace the opportunities before us.
At this stage of my life, I am enjoying the journey. I am still learning, creating, dreaming, and discovering what God has planned for me.
And I believe some of my best chapters are still ahead.
